Blog Justification Paragraph
The majority of the theme is turquoise, the mixture of green and blue. I specifically wanted to use this color because I wanted my blog to express both elements of green and blue. Green, the color of “environmental awareness” and “harmony” is both a literal and figurative representation of my love for science (Wright par. 8). Blue, on the other hand, is “the color of clear communication”, and perfectly represents my goal of trying to communicate effectively through my writing (Wright par. 5). The main background image of my blog is a picture of sea waves hitting a beach. The waves in picture reflect another element of serenity, but of course, the sea is not always calm. Tides are constantly changing --sometimes predictable and other times erratic-- and I want my writing to be as dynamic and powerful as the ocean. Fonts also contribute to the overall theme of my blog: the sans-serif heading text combined with the serif body text creates the “ideal situation” that many professionals recommend (Pepper et. al par. 28). The Merriweather font, specifically used in the page body, is a classic sans-serif font that is very readable and elegant.
